There are a wide variety of websites pertaining to Japanese art and culture. Some of the more interesting ones I have discovered are below:

1). Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum:    http://www.noguchi.org

A museum in Queens, NY, dedicated to the world famous Japanese artist, designer, sculpturer and architect. Numerous of his works are on display including many original Akari light sculptures, lamps that represent his unique style of art collected all over the world.

2). Washi Accents:     http://www.washiaccents.com

A store and classroom for traditional Japanese art, including ikebana (flower arranging), Shodo (caligraphy), Sumi-e (painting), Shashiko (embroidery), among others. Many types of Japanese washi and shoji papers are available.

3). Style of Japan:     http://www.styleofjapan.com

A wonderful source for a variety of Japanese art supplies including many styles of paper such as washi, rice, shoji screen paper and others.

4). Japanese Paper Place:     http://www.japanesepaperplace.com

A beautiful and extensive collection of Japanese papers - over 600 to choose from !

5). Hammond Museum & Japanese Stroll Garden:                                                           http://www.hammondmuseum.org

Located in North Salem, New York (Westchester area), this is truly an undiscovered treasure. Beautiful gardens with ponds to stroll around, a variety of art exhibits and shows, traditional tea drinking ceremonies (my favorite experience there !) and other special events related to Japanese culture. Worth a visit.
